Application

Applications

KHK ceramic insulated band heaters are used where higher temperatures are required and conventional ceramic insulation is sufficient. Typical applications include standard plastics-processing duties on barrels and nozzles.

  • standard injection-moulding and extrusion processes without special sealing requirements
  • higher-temperature applications where ceramic insulation is sufficient
  • existing equipment already designed for ceramic insulated band heaters

Conventional ceramic solutions reach their limits when material ingress, uneven heat distribution or process fluctuations occur.

  • for melt-tight requirements and critical processes, ZAK offers the more stable solution
  • for standardised applications focused on economy, M/MC is generally the more suitable choice

Options include different dimensions and connections, single- or multi-phase versions with star or delta connection, holes, cut-outs, thermocouple bridges, pressure-spring locks, segmented designs and UL-recognised versions.

Custom KHK band heaters are manufactured directly by Ihne & Tesch. The typical delivery time is approximately two to three weeks, with production carried out in-house to the customer’s specification.

KHK ceramic insulated band heaters from Ihne & Tesch can be supplied as UL-recognised versions on request, often for machines intended for export to North America.
